Scouting #1 Connecticut (32-0)
UConn looked impressive in its 84-39 win over Georgetown in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals. The Huskies have not lost in over one calendar year, last falling to Tennessee on February 6, 2025.
As close to healthy as any team can be in March, Sarah Strong enters the matchup leading UConn in points (18.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.6 rpg).
The Huskies greatest asset is the ability to speed a team up and force turnovers, generating 25 turnovers per game and nearly 16 steals (15.8).
Keys to the game:
- Belief: Defeating UConn in what will amount to a road game starts with belief. The Bluejays have to buy in completely that winning is possible.
- Guard the Basketball: This applies both offensively and defensively. The Jays must limit turnovers, specifically live ball turnovers. On the defensive end they must make UConn accept lower percentage shots than they are used to.
- Connect Early and Often from Range: To beat the Huskies the Bluejays will need to connect at an elite level from beyond the arc.
