As of April 15, Creighton's Premier Club Sports teams have successfully completed a landmark inaugural year—one defined by growth, resilience, and exciting progress across every program. While spring competition has concluded, student-athletes will continue to benefit from ongoing practices, fitness programming, and facility access through the end of the academic year. This continued support allows players to stay active and balanced as they navigate the demands of finals season.
From the very beginning, the Premier Club Sports staff has been energized by the commitment and development displayed by each team. Beyond competition, athletes have embraced opportunities to shape the future of the program—sharing thoughtful feedback, building strong team cultures, and helping lay a foundation that will carry forward into future seasons.
Men's Premier Club Golf
The Men's Golf team delivered an outstanding debut season, highlighted by two individual tournament victories from Ethan Ivany and Ryan O'Rourke, along with an impressive team win at the Central Regional Spring Tournament. Through valuable partnerships with Shoreline and the Field Club of Omaha, players gained access to premier facilities, including full courses, practice ranges, and simulators. This combination of talent, dedication, and resources set the tone for a highly successful first year.
Sophomore Luke Person shared his Premier experience so far: "Coming in I wasn't sure what to expect with this being the first year of Premier Club Sports, but Premier Club Golf has exceeded my expectations. Everyone throughout the season made it clear to me that they were committed to giving us the best experience possible. Overall, very positive and excited for what the future has to bring!"
Women's Premier Club Golf
The Women's Golf team demonstrated consistency and competitiveness across both fall and spring seasons, gaining valuable experience in both all-women and co-ed tournaments. A standout performance came from Julian Brown, who finished tied for 19th at the Central Regional Fall Tournament against a strong field of competitors. With a solid core returning and new talent on the horizon, the program is well-positioned for continued growth.
Men's Premier Club Hockey
Despite competing with a smaller roster, the Men's Hockey team showcased determination and heart throughout the season, earning three hard-fought wins. Their resilience and team-first mentality established a strong identity and set a powerful example for future players. Even more encouraging is the team's proactive approach to improvement, with players stepping into leadership roles to support recruiting efforts and strengthen the program moving forward.
Freshman Tony Newton gave us his feelings about the current team, saying, "This team has the best environment and culture I have ever experienced. The support from the players and coaches has created a perfect balance of competition and fun. I am excited to see the great things this team does!"
Men's Premier Club Lacrosse
Men's Lacrosse made significant strides in its first year, building a roster from within the student body and competing in 10 games this spring. The season's defining moment came in an exciting home victory over Nebraska, capped by a dramatic last-second goal from Konna Respicio.
Freshman Will Lanier said this about the season: "We fought hard every game and our effort paid off, especially in the win against Nebraska. This year, we set the foundation for a bright future for this team."
Women's Premier Club Lacrosse
The Women's Lacrosse team stood out for its exceptional team chemistry and continuous improvement throughout the season. Competing against strong opponents, the team steadily elevated its level of play. Their season finale against Iowa State highlighted that progress, with a seven-goal performance led by Madeline Smyka's hat trick. Their engagement, feedback, and enthusiasm have been instrumental in shaping the program and building momentum for the future.
Freshman Alyssa Moheiser gave us her perspective on the first year, saying, "Starting a new program isn't always easy, but this year was truly a blast. I had the chance to meet new people in my community and find a second family with the Women's Premier Lacrosse team." Alyssa also shared that one of her "...favorite memories was traveling out of state with the men's team and watching movies together on the bus, moments like that really made it feel like a family."
