OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Cross Country season will start even earlier than expected, as the Bluejays have moved up Friday's race times for the Platte River Rumble "Gold" races. The women's race will now start at 7:45 a.m., followed by the men's race at 8:15 a.m., in an effort to avoid the extreme heat being forecast for later in the day.
Teams expected to compete in the Platte River Rumble "Gold" race include Creighton, Omaha, Kansas State, Iowa Western, Peru State and Southeast Community College. It will mark the first competition for the Bluejays under interim head coach Matthew Fayers, who was promoted to the position in July.

The races will be held at Olsson Cross Country Course in Ashland, Neb., one of the Midwest's top facilities and home to the 2025 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships. Friday will mark the start of the fifth year the facility has hosted collegiate races. Parking passes to enter Eugene T.
