Kuhlman's Top 10 Finish Leads Men's Golf at Wildcat Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Brock Kuhlman tied for 10th to lead the Creighton Men's Golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday.
A senior from Columbus, Neb., Kuhlman compiled rounds of 74, 76 and 70 for a 220 finish. It marks Kuhlman's third career Top 10 finish as a Bluejay, which also includes a tie for fifth place at the same tournament a year ago. His final-round 70 marked his 11th career round of par or better. Â
Radley Mauney (72-79-73) had Creighton's best score of the first round and finished in a tie for 26th place with a 224 aggregate. Mauney's 72 matched his low score from last season. He had an eagle on two different holes to tie the tournament lead.
Freshman Andrew Nietfeldt continue to impress, as the Elkhorn North product shot loops of 73, 77 and 75 to tie for 32nd place.
Owen Price (75-75-76=226) tied for 39th place, and Kansas State transfer Tyler Strong (77-78-73=228) tied for 47th place.
Creighton (294-306-291=891) placed fifth in the 15-team event, which saw St. Thomas (290-293-283=866) earn a 10-shot win over Kansas State (296-293-287=876).
South Dakota State's Jake Olson (72-69-70=211) finished the tournament five-under to notch a one-shot victory over St. Thomas' Tyler McNeive (74-69-69=212). The field consisted of 81 golfers who played on the Colbert Hills Golf Course that measured 7,525 yards on its par 72 layout.Â
Creighton hosts the Bluejay Invitational next Monday and Tuesday at Shadow Ridge Country Club in Omaha.
