Getting to Know Wilson Magers
- Wilson was dominant in his freshman campaign, claiming the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year as well as NCBWA Second-Team Freshman All-American.
- He also earned All-BIG EAST First Team Honors
- Magers made 16 appearances, including 14 starts. He led Creighton with 72.2 innings pitched and posted an ERA of 3.47.
- Wilson tossed a season-high six innings in three games, but his strikeout high of seven came in five innings against San Francisco on March 16.
- Wilson earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on February 17 in his debut as a Bluejay, striking out six UNC Greensboro Spartans over five innings.
- He closed the season with a 6-3 record, collecting 55 strikeouts and posting a .217 opponents batting average.
2020-2024 (Mankato West HS)
- Wilson was selected as the 2024 Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year in Minnesota and the No. 8 prospect in the state according to Prep Baseball Report.Â
- Magers was selected to the 2023 Legion All-Star Series, and claimed All-City and All-Section honors as a junior and a senior.Â
- The Mankato native produced a 6-0 record on the mound through 19 games with a 0.80 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 43.2 innings.Â
- As a three year letterwinner in baseball, Magers helped the Scarlets to a state championship runner-up in 2022 and a state tournament appearance in 2024.Â
- He served as a member in National Honor Society as well as maintaining a 3.96 GPA and earning the team leadership awardÂ

- If you didn’t play baseball, what other sport would you have played? Basketball
- What’s your earliest baseball memory that still sticks with you today? Playing wiffle ball with my brother.
- What’s a hobby or talent you have that people wouldn’t expect from a baseball player? I enjoy hunting in my free time.
