Jovan Coleman has joined the Creighton men's basketball program in the summer of 2023 as a Graduate Assistant. He is pursuing a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership at Creighton.
Coleman is a Mississippi State University graduate, having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Psychology, Kinesiology, & Education. He served as a student manager for three years, including a year as co-head manager for the Mississippi State Men's Basketball program under head coach Ben Howland.
Coleman also spent time as an assistant Boys and Girls varsity basketball coach at Pearl High School in Pearl, MS in 2019-2021. He also was the Head Coach for the 7th & 8th grade boys basketball team and PE teacher during his tenure in Pearl Public School District.
He also served as the top Assistant Coach at Toccoa Falls College under Head Coach Leonard Epps during the 2021-2022 season where he helped set a school record in wins. In the 2022-2023 season, Coleman served as the top Assistant Coach at Brewton-Parker College, an NAIA school in Mount Vernon, Georgia.
Coleman, an East Biloxi, MS native, attended Biloxi High School in Biloxi, MS, where he was a varsity letterman for 3 years. He is the son of Maxine Williams and Joseph Coleman.
