2019-20: Junior at Creighton
• Led Creighton with 16.9 points and 1.3 steals per game while also contributing 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
• Named a Third Team All-American by USA Today.
• First Team All-BIG EAST selection emerged to team’s defensive stopper in 2019-20 and called by Greg McDermott the best two-way guard in the BIG EAST.
• BIG EAST ranks: second in free throw percentage; third in points/game; fourth in three-pointers made per game; fifth in minutes per game; sixth in three-point percentage; eighth in steals per game and ninth in defensive rebounds per game.
• Ranks 25th in CU history with 1,241 career points.
• Became the 42nd Bluejay to reach 1,000 career points at Georgetown (1/15), doing it in his 85th career game.
• One of 10 players in Creighton history with multiple seasons of 500 or more points.
• Named USBWA District VI First Team for the second straight season.
• Of the 200 D1 players who defended at least 275 possessions, Alexander finished first in defensive efficiency (0.622 PPP). Duke’s Tre Jones (ACC DPOY) was second at 0.660.
• Alexander was also first among that same list of 200 players in *adjusted field goal percentage at 35.1%. (- aFG% takes into account that 3s are worth more than 2s.)
• Among players who have defended at least 300 possessions in any season since 2010-11 only Texas Tech’s Matt Mooney and Houston’s Galen Robinson, Jr. (both in 2018-19) allowed fewer points per possession than Alexander did in 2019-20.
• Made multiple three-pointers in each of his last 11 games and joined teammate Mitch Ballock as one of two Bluejays in school history with consecutive seasons of 80+ trifectas.
• Made at least one trey and scored in double-figures in each of final 15 games.
• Preseason First Team All-BIG EAST in 2019-20 after finishing last season with Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST acclaim as a sophomore.
• Also one of five finalists for the Jerry West Award, given to the nation’s best shooting guard, and was also on the Preseason Watch List for the John R. Wooden Award.
• Added 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals at Michigan (Nov. 12).
• Notched first career double-double with 18 points and a career-best 12 rebounds in overtime win vs. No. 12 Texas Tech (Nov. 29).
• Scored 22 points vs. Nebraska (Dec. 7), then matched that vs. UTRGV (Dec. 13).
• Earned second career double-double vs. Oklahoma (19 points, 11 rebounds) on Dec. 17.
• Had 21 points, eight rebounds and career-high six steals vs. Marquette (Jan. 1) while also helping to limit national scoring leader Markus Howard to 18 points on 6-of-16 shooting.
• Scored season-high 24 points vs. Providence (Jan. 18), including a personal 5-0 run in last 90 seconds to tie the game.
• Matched season-high with 24 points in win vs. Xavier (Jan. 26).
• Contributed 14 points during early 26-7 run in 76-61 win at No. 8 Villanova (Feb. 1).

• Helped USA Basketball to a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, in August, contributing 25 points and 11 rebounds over five games.

• Played in Creighton’s final two Australia games, averaging 11.5 points and 2.0 steals per game.
Summer 2019: Pan American Games
• Contributed 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists over five games to help USA Basketball to the bronze medal in the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
2018-19: Sophomore at Creighton
• Started all 34 appearances, leading the team with 534 points (15.7 ppg.), 41 steals and 97 three-pointers while also adding 4.0 rebounds per contest.
• Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST selection.
• Led BIG EAST with a +10.2 points per game scoring improvement from the 2017-18 season, when he averaged 5.5 ppg., and never scored more than 14.
• Top 12 in the BIG EAST in three-pointers per game (4th), scoring (10th), free throw percentage (11th) and steals per game (12th).
• Ty-Shon’s 97 three-pointers were second-most in CU history by a sophomore, trailing only Kyle Korver’s 100 in 2000-01, and fourth-most ever at CU regardless of class.
• Made a three-pointer in a Creighton-record 33 straight games from Feb. 27, 2018 to March 6, 2019.
• First player in Creighton history to make multiple three-pointers in each of team’s first eight games of a season.
• Ranked 52nd nationally in three-pointers made and 59th in three-pointers per game.
• BIG EAST Player of the Week on Jan. 29 after averaging 22.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two wins.
• Reached double-figures in the first 10 contests, joining Doug McDermott (in 2011-12) as program’s only sophomores in the last 40 years to do so.
• Owned 110 points in five games (22.0 ppg.) vs. top-25 foes.
• MVP of the Cayman Islands Classic after he averaged 22.3 points and 3.0 assists per game in three wins.
• Scored a career-high 36 points in the title game win over No. 16 Clemson, 16 more than his previous best (Nov. 21), while draining seven three-pointers and 11-of-11 free throws.
• Scored 27 points and tied (then) career-high with five assists vs. No. 1 Gonzaga (Dec. 1).
• Pumped in 20 points in win vs. East Tennessee State (Nov. 11).

2017-18: Freshman at Creighton
• Split time at point guard and shooting guard in his debut season, averaging 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds.
• Appeared in all 33 games, making one start (Nebraska, Dec. 9).
• Had five assists and a steal in his collegiate debut vs. Yale (Nov. 10).
• Scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds vs. Alcorn State (Nov. 12).
• Recorded 14 points, including 11 in the first half, in first true road game, a win at No. 20 Northwestern (Nov. 15), earning him BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors.
• Had his fifth game scoring in double-figures off the bench when he added 11 points vs. North Dakota on Dec. 5.
• Made his first career start on Dec. 9 vs. Nebraska, finishing with three assists and a steal.
• Had 12 points and four assists vs. Maryland Eastern Shore (Dec. 15).
• Scored nine points in his BIG EAST debut at No. 23 Seton Hall (Dec. 28).
• Finished with season-highs of five assists, seven rebounds and 29 minutes in win vs. St. John’s (Jan. 3).
• Produced his first double-figure scoring game in BIG EAST play with 10 points in 14 minutes at No. 1 Villanova (Feb. 1).
• Scored 13 points, his most in BIG EAST play, in Feb. 27 win vs. DePaul.
• Swiped a season-high two steals vs. No. 5 Xavier on Feb. 10.
Oak Hill Academy
• A top 100 recruit per ESPN (No. 52), 24/7 (No. 80) and Rivals (No. 81).
• Team went 37-4 his senior season, when he led team in free-throw percentage.
• Averaged 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a junior as team won the DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals at Madison Square Garden.
• Shot 49.3 percent from the field and 42.4 percent beyond the arc.
• Team was ranked second in the final USA Today Super 25 Boys Basketball rankings.
• Also recruited by Clemson, Charlotte and Virginia Tech.
• High school teammates included Devontae Shuler (Ole Miss) and Lindell Wigginton (Iowa State).
• Played for coach Steve Smith, who has churned out NBA All-Stars such as Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo and Carmelo Anthony over the years out of Oak Hill.
• School is located in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia.
Northside Christian High School
• Attended Northside Christian High School as a sophomore.
• Averaged 16 points and six assists per game.
• Played for Jeff McInnis with Team Charlotte on the AAU circuit. McInnis starred at North Carolina and enjoyed an 11-year NBA career.
• Helped Team Charlotte to the Under Armour Invitational title in 2014, averaging 14 points per game while making 51.5 percent of his attempts from the field.
