Abigail Santana
2024 (Graduate Student at Creighton)
A captain for a second consecutive season, Abigail missed the entire 2024 season after suffering a season-ending knee injury during the first practice of the year.
2023 (Senior at Creighton):
A captain in 2023, Santana was one of four Bluejays to start all 18 matches, ranking third on the team with 1,556 minutes played ... Played all 90 minutes on 11 different occasions .... She remained at the forefront of Creighton’s offense, pacing the Bluejays with 10 points on a team-high tying three goals and a team-leading four assists ... Connected with Maddie Radke for the Bluejays first goal of the season in the Bluejays’ 2-2 draw against Nebraska (Aug. 17) ... Scored her first goal of the season in the 32nd minute at Saint Louis on Aug. 24 ... Recorded her second multi-goal game of her career and tied her career-high with four points, netting a pair of goals in the Bluejays’ 3-2 win over North Dakota State (Sept. 10) ... Also notched assists in matches against South Dakota State (Sept. 15), Marquette (Sept. 28) and St. John’s (Oct. 5) ... Was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for a second straight season ... BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree.
2022 (Junior at Creighton):
A BIG EAST All-Tournament Team selection, Abigail started each of the 17 games she played in during the 2022 season ... She tied for second on the team with three goals, including the first goal of the season against Gonzaga on Aug. 21 ... Santana added two assists while logging 1,391 minutes of action, including a career-high 108 minutes in the Bluejays’ shootout win over Butler in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament (Oct. 30) ... Abigail notched goals in back-to-back games against Providence (Oct. 2) and at St. John’s (Oct. 6) ... She also delivered an assist in a 4-1 win over North Dakota (Sept. 9) as well as an assist in a 1-1 draw in a home match against DePaul (Oct. 20) ... Off the pitch, Santana earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
2021 (Sophomore at Creighton):
Santana had a huge impact offensively for the Bluejays in 2021, starting in each of the Bluejays’ 19 matches ... Abigail logged 1,589 minutes on the pitch, collecting the most points (18) on the team with eight goals and two assists ... Santana notched the first Bluejay goal of the season and the first goal of her career in the 50th minute of the Bluejays’ 2-1 double-overtime win over Montana (Aug. 19) to open the season ... Her best match of the season came on Sept. 5 as she posted two goals for a season-high four points in Creighton’s 3-0 win over South Dakota State ... That effort earned Abigail a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll (Sept. 6) ... Santana added goals in each of the Bluejays’ next two matches against North Dakota State (Sept. 9) and Kansas City (Sept. 12), while also netting goals in contests against No. 25 Georgetown (Sept. 23) and Seton Hall (Oct. 17) ... Abigail tallied assists during Creighton’s matches against Kansas City (Sept. 12) and Villanova (Oct. 10).
2020 (Freshman at Creighton):
Abigail saw action in five matches in 2020, earning the start three times ... She logged a
combined 309 minutes on the pitch, led by a season-high 87 minutes at Missouri (Feb. 25) ... Santana attempted five shots, including three against Xavier on March 7.
Linn-Mar High School & Club:
Santana was the 2019 Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year ... She was a three-time First Team All-State selection, a two-time MVC Athlete of the Year and an All-American selection in 2019 ... A three-year
letterwinner for Linn-Mar High School, Santana was the the first freshman to earn First Team All-State for Lions ... At the club level she played three seasons in the ECNL for FC Wisconsin and competed for Sporting Iowa as a senior.

• Has two sisters; Leah and Julia.
• Earned bachelor’s degree in biology last May and is pursuing a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
• Favorite food is rice, chicken and veggie bowls.
• First job as a kid was a receptionist at Skyzone.
• Favorite ice cream flavor is cookie dough.
• Favorite professional sports team is Liverpool.
• Life advise to others is to never take life or joy in things for granted.
• In 10 years, she hopes to be married with a family and pursuing her dream of being a doctor.
• Chose Creighton because of the tight knit community and the amazing athletics and academics.
• Besides soccer, her favorite sport to watch is track and field.
• Super power she wishes she had is teleportation.
