Derek Ravlin started as Director of Fan Experience at Creighton on January 1, 2025. Prior to becoming the Director of Fan Experience, Ravlin was the Assistant Director of Marketing for Creighton Athletics since December of 2023. He serves as the primary marketing contact for Men's Basketball, Volleyball and Baseball for Creighton Athletics.

Derek is a Council Bluffs native and came to us from the University of Iowa, where he earned his M.A. in Sport & Recreation Management in 2023 and B.B.A in Marketing Management in 2021. He previously worked as a graduate intern in marketing for Iowa Athletics and as the retail sales lead for the Iowa Heartlanders in the ECHL.

During his first year as the primary contact for Baseball, Creighton saw a 20.7% uptick in average attendance (2,314) from the year prior, including a single game attendance of 9,785 versus cross-town rival UNO. This also meant a 28% increase in total ticket revenue for the season. Creighton baseball finished the season with the highest average attendance in the BIG EAST and ranked 43rd nationally. Under Ravlin's guidance, the team saw their highest average attendance since the 2018-19 season.

Ravlin continues to make strides as the Director of Fan Experience. Creighton ranked 29th nationally in average attendance for volleyball and sat atop the BIG EAST. The team saw their 3rd largest crowd in D.J. Sokol Arena history for their season opening match against NC State on August 30, 2024 with 2,569 fans in attendance. Creighton Baseball ranked 38th in average attendance in 2025 with over 2,200 fans each game.

The current Creighton athletic marketing team continues to make waves nationally as they recently took home 2nd place in the NACMA Marketing Team of the Year awards including seven 'Best Of' awards in 2024, a record for Creighton University.

Ravlin has gained valuable industry experience while taking part in the 2023 National Sports Forum Collegiate Case Cup competition and attending the yearly NACMA convention.

Derek currently resides in Omaha, NE, with his partner Alexia.
