Scouting Creighton (6-6-3, 2-3-2 BE)
Creighton is 7-7-3 this season and are still in the hunt for the final spot in the BIG EAST Tournament with a 3-4-2 mark in league play after splitting a pair of matches at Georgetown (W, 4-2) and Seton Hall (L, 0-1) last week.
The Bluejays found their footing after an 0-2 start to the season, posting shutouts in five of their eight non-conference matches, including wins over Kansas City, Missouri, Northern Colorado and Omaha. CU has since claimed a pair of draws against Providence (1-1) and St. John's (0-0), as well as wins over Butler (2-1) and UConn (2-0) in BIG EAST action.
Senior Olivia Duray paces the Bluejays offense with 11 points on a team-high five goals and an assist, with junior Anna Bragg and sophomore Sarah Hyde following closely behind with three goals and an assist each this season.
Junior Macy Felton, sophomore Jalen Chaney, and freshmen Radleigh Childers and Gabby Wagenfuhr have each contributed to the Bluejays success with one goal apiece. Sophomores Taylor Yablonski and Olivia Sides, meanwhile, have directed the Bluejays offense with a team-high three assists while also contributing one goal each.
Defensively the Bluejays have posted seven shutouts this fall with junior transfer Morgan Paley anchoring the way in between the posts. Paley currently owns a 1.26 goals against average with 50 saves, while fifth-year Kailey Hall owns a 1.69 goals against average and 11 saves in 319 minutes of action.
Creighton was picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' poll as Jimmy Walker coaches his 19th season with a 198-117-35 career record.
Scouting DePaul (5-6-6, 2-4-3 BE)
DePaul is 5-6-6 this season and 2-4-3 in the BIG EAST heading into the final match of the season. The Blue Demons have been eliminated from BIG EAST Tournament consideration and will close the season this weekend in Omaha.
DePaul has played some of its best soccer this season away from home, owning a 3-2-2 record with wins over Lindenwood (1-0), UIC (1-0) and UConn (1-0), as well as draws at Xavier (1-1) and Loyola Chicago (0-0).
Offensively, DePaul has struggled to find the back of the net this season, ranking tied for eighth in the BIG EAST with just 16 goals scored.
Freshman Katelyn Haiser and senior Shayna da Silva have paced the Blue Demons offense all season all, ranking among the top 10 in the BIG EAST in total points. Haiser leads the way with a team-high six goals and two assists, while da Silva has added four goals and a team-best five assists this year.
Defensively, senior Mason Hillery has logged every minute for the Blue Demons in between the posts (1,440). She has posted six shutouts, while owning a 1.19 goals against average with 60 total saves.
DePaul was picked 10th in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' poll this season as head coach Michele O'Brien wraps up her sixth season with the Blue Demons.
Series History Against The Blue Demon's
Creighton and DePaul will meet for the 15th time in program history on Saturday afternoon, with the Blue Demons holding an 8-4-2 edge in the all-time series.
DePaul won the first six meetings between the two schools, before Creighton claimed a 2-0 shutout win in 2019. The Bluejays and Blue Demons then alternated wins until battling to a 1-1 draws in 2022 and 2023.
Creighton has won each of the last two meetings, including last season when the Jays rallied from a first half deficit with second half goals from Ariana Mondiri and Jalen Chaney to defeat DePaul, 2-1, in Chicago. CU is 3-3-1 all-time in matches played in Omaha.
Head coach Jimmy Walker is 2-0-0 against DePaul and Michele O'Brien in his coaching career.
Race for Final Spot Heats Up
With a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament on the line, a six-team race for the final two spots has heated up with one match remaining.
Creighton currently sits in sixth place in the BIG EAST standings with 11 points and will need some help to solidify its third consecutive BIG EAST Tournament appearance.
Heading into the final match, Creighton's only scenario to make the postseason is to secure a win over DePaul and have Seton Hall lose to St. John's. Should both of those things happen, the Bluejays will earn the No. 4 seed in next week's BIG EAST Tournament.
Below are all the seeding scenarios that can determine Creighton's chances at a BIG EAST Tournament berth.
- With a win on Saturday (14 pts.) and a Seton Hall loss, Creighton earns #4 seed.
- With a draw or loss on Saturday against DePaul, Creighton's season is over.
What's at Stake
Heading into the final match of the season, Creighton can secure a berth into the BIG EAST tournament for the third consecutive season with a win over DePaul and a loss by Seton Hall on Saturday.
Should the Bluejays secure their fourth BIG EAST win of the season and that Seton Hall loss on Saturday, it will mark the first time Creighton has earned back-to-back-to-back BIG EAST Tournament bids since joining the league in 2013. It will also mark the first time that the Jays have qualified for the conference tournament in three consecutive seasons since 2010-12.
CU has had a storied history in the conference tournament throughout its 38-year history. The Bluejays have appeared in 20 conference tournaments, claiming five Missouri Valley Conference Tournaments titles, most recently earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in 2010. Creighton is still seeking its first BIG EAST Conference Tournament Championship.
Balanced Attack
Behind a balanced attack Creighton went into a hostile environment and took down perennial power Georgetown, 4-2, on Oct. 28 for its first win over the Hoyas in program history.
The Bluejays four goals scored were its most in a BIG EAST regular season match since defeating Xavier, 6-1, back on Oct. 23, 2016. In addition, it was just the third time Creighton has scored four or more goals in a conference regular season match since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season.
Even more impressive, all four Bluejay goals were scored by different players, marking the 12th time that CU has scored at least four goals from four different Bluejays in a conference match since 1997.
Lucky Three
Creighton's 4-2 win at Georgetown on Oct. 28 was historic in more ways than one. Not only was it the Bluejays first win over Georgetown in 16 tries, but it was also the first time Creighton has scored at least three goals in a match this season.
This marks the second straight season Creighton has netted at least three goals in a match on the road in BIG EAST play, having also earned a 3-3 draw at Providence last year.
Impressively, with Creighton's 4-2 win at Georgetown last week, the Bluejays have now posted a result in 96 consecutive matches when scoring three or more goals, dating back to a 4-3 setback at Pacific on Sept. 15, 2002.
Overall, Creighton is an impressive 168-2-4 all-time when scoring three or more goals, an astonishing .977 winning percentage.
PK Knowledge
Coming at a rarity, Creighton earned their first penalty kick of the season on a handball inside the 18-yard box at Georgetown on Oct. 28.
Junior Anna Bragg was pure on the PK attempt, burying the first penalty kick of her Bluejay career to give the Jays a 2-0 lead in an eventual 4-2 victory over the Hoyas.
Sophomore Jalen Chaney is the only other Bluejay to have attempted a penalty kick in her career, as she delivered the game-winner on a PK against DePaul last season.
In total, current members of the Bluejays squad are 2-for-2 on penalty kicks in their career.
Creighton - Penalty Kick Conversions

Jalen Chaney - 1-1 - 1-1
Setting the Set Piece Standard
Creighton was tactically sound offensively all year on set pieces and that showed in their win over Georgetown on Oct. 28.
The Bluejays scored four goals in the win with three of the goals being scored on set pieces. The other goal came via the Bluejays first penalty kick of the season.
Including the four goals scored against Georgetown last Wednesday, Creighton has now netted a total of 17 goals this season. Of those 17 goals, eight have been scored on set pieces (Corner kicks/free kicks).
Second Half Surge
After a slow start to conference play, Creighton has certainly played some of its best soccer of the season in the second half of the BIG EAST slate.
In the first six matches of BIG EAST play, Creighton posted a 1-3-2 record and was outscored by an 11-5 margin.
The Bluejays, however, have flipped momentum down the stretch strings wins together over UConn and Georgetown, before falling to Seton Hall last Saturday. Over the course of the last three matches, Creighton has outscored its three opponents, 6-3, while collecting 17 total points (6 goals, 5 assists) as a squad.
Below is a breakdown statistically of Creighton's first six BIG EAST matches versus the last three league contests.

Paley's seven total shutouts are tied for the fifth-most in a single season in program history and the most since Keelan Terrell also recorded seven clean sheets in 2021.

Dialed In Duray
Senior Olivia Duray has more than doubled her career point total this season, having recorded a team-high 11 points on five goals and an assist.
Duray netted the Bluejays first goal of the season at Colorado College on Aug. 12 and added the game-winner in the Jays' 1-0 win over Kansas City on Aug. 27. She then assisted on the game-winning goal in the Bluejays' 1-0 Socctoberfest win over Northern Colorado on Sept. 4, before delivering the equalizer in the Jays' 1-1 BIG EAST opening draw against Providence on Sept. 26.
Duray has since delivered the fourth-fastest goal in program history, netting the initial goal 30 seconds in during the Bluejays' 2-1 win over Butler on Oct. 10. Her most recent goal saw her laser a shot into the upper-90 in the Bluejays' 2-0 victory over UConn on Oct. 21.
The Illinois native had recorded just five total points on a goal and three assists last season, after not collecting a point in her first two seasons at Pittsburgh.
Walking Bluejays into Conference Success
Head coach Jimmy Walker has certainly enjoyed more than his fair share of success in conference play throughout his career.
In the midst of his 19th season as a head coach, Walker owns a 120-44-19 overall record in conference play, including a 12-10-6 record in the BIG EAST play at Creighton.
With a 2-0 win over UConn on Oct. 21, Walker recorded his 11th BIG EAST win, passing former head coach Bruce Erickson for the most conference wins through their first three seasons in program history.

Line-Em' Up, Shut Em' Out
Although the Creighton offense has had a slow start to the season, the Bluejay defense has been a true headliner.
The Bluejay squad currently has seven shutouts on the season, tied for the fourth-most in the BIG EAST with Marquette and are behind only Villanova and Seton Hall's 10 shutouts and Xavier's eight clean sheets.
Creighton seven shutouts this season are the most by a Bluejay squad since the Jays record seven shutouts in 2021 and are one shy of moving into a tie for sixth on Creighton's single season shutout record board.
The record for the most shutouts in a single season in program history is 12, which was set during the 2009 season.

Bringing the Physicality
Over the course of the last few years there is one portion of the game that Creighton is not shy to bring, and that is the physicality.
In 17 matches this season, Creighton has racked up 200 fouls and a total of 27 yellow cards and one red card. The Bluejays 27 yellow cards are tied for the 10th-most in the NCAA while the 11.71 fouls per game are the 21st-most in the country this season.
During the Bluejays' scoreless draw with Iowa State on Aug. 23, Creighton was booked with five yellow cards and called for 17 fouls over the course of the match. The Bluejays five yellow cards were the most in a single match since at least 2000 and tied for the most in a single match in the NCAA this season.
CU's 27 yellow cars this season are tied for the second-most in a single season in program history, trailing only the 29 yellows cards in 2024. By comparison, the Bluejays were booked for just six yellow cards and ranked 301st out of 335 DI teams in 2021.

Scoring Two Works Almost Everytime
It would stand to reason that scoring goals increases a team's chances of winning. For the Bluejays, that is most certainly the case.
Since the program began in 1989, Creighton owns a 286-23-15 all-time record when scoring two or more goals in a match, which includes an 9-0-2 record over the last two years. On the flip side, the Bluejays are 51-268-56 when being held to fewer than two goals.
Additionally, the Bluejays are 79-8-6 when scoring two or more goals and 19-101-28 when netting fewer than two goals since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.
Drawing First Blood
Scoring first in soccer has its advantages and that has proved to be the difference for the Bluejays over the last decade.
Through 17 matches this season, Creighton is 7-0-0 when scoring first, but 0-7-1 when the opponent nets the initial goal.
Last fall, Creighton went 5-0-1 when scoring first, but 2-8-3 when the opponent found the back of the net first, with CU's two wins coming against Omaha (Sept. 10) and DePaul (Oct. 18).
In addition, CU has had tremendous success when taking a lead into the break as the Bluejays are 4-0-0 when leading at halftime, but 0-5-1 when trailing and 3-2-2 when tied at the break this year.
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2013, Creighton owns a 58-13-14 when finding the back of the net first, which includes an impressive 19-2-2 mark under head coach Jimmy Walker. The Bluejays, however, are 21-94-12 when the opponent scores first and have recorded 10 scoreless draws.

Bluejay Defense is the Key
Defense has been a focal point for Creighton over the past decade, developing a pattern that has led the Jays to success in the three seasons under head coach Jimmy Walker.
Through 17 matches this season, Creighton has allowed a total of 23 goals, owning a 6-1-3 mark with seven shutouts when allowing fewer than two goals, while holding an 1-6-0 record when allowing two or more goals this fall.
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2013, Creighton owns an impressive 87-28-29 record when holding its opponents to one goal or less, including an 20-6-6 mark under Walker.
Conversely, the Jays are 14-81-7 when allowing two or more goals and 2-16-3 under Walker, following Creighton 4-2 win over Georgetown last week. The Bluejays only other win under Walker when allowing two or more goals came last fall when the Jays rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Omaha on Sept. 10.

Paley Keeps Impressing with Third PK Save
Junior transfer Morgan Paley has been quite impressive in her first season in a Bluejay uniform and that success continued last Wednesday with her third penalty kick save of the season against UConn.
After being called for a foul in the box for the fourth time this season, Paley stepped up big with an incredible diving save at the left post on the PK attempt from Se-Hanna Mars to keep the Huskies off the scoreboard.
Paley's diving save was her third PK save of the season, making her the first Bluejay goalkeeper to stop three penalty kick attempts in a single season since at least 2000.
The McKinney, Texas native has also made incredible PK diving saves this season against Providence on Sept. 26 and against Butler on Oct. 10. Ironically, Paley's PK stop against Providence marked the first penalty kick save by a Bluejay goalkeeper in exactly two years, as Alyssa Zalac smothered a PK opportunity by Villanova on Sept. 26, 2024, while also becoming just the seventh Bluejay netminder to record a penalty kick save since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season.
In total, Creighton has stopped 12 PK attempt since 2013 and at least one PK in nine of their 14 seasons in the league.

Paley Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll
Junior goalkeeper Morgan Paley landed a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season after guiding Creighton to a 2-0 win over UConn on Oct. 21.
Paley made a career-high nine dazzling saves, including one on a PK, to anchor the Bluejays defense to its seventh shutout of the season.
The McKinney, Texas native shined in between the post against the Huskies, stopping her third penalty kick of the season to becoming the first Bluejay goalkeeper to stop three penalty kick attempts in a single season since at least 2000. In addition, Paley moved into a tie for fifth on Creighton's single season shutouts list with her seventh clean sheet of the fall.
Horton Spreading the Love
Freshman Cassidy Horton shared the love, dishing out two assists in the Bluejays' 2-0 win over UConn on Oct. 21.
The Dallas, Texas collected the first assist of her collegiate career when she assisted on the game-winner from Anna Bragg in the 31st minute of play. The freshman standout then combined with Taylor Yablonski to assist on an insurance goal from Ollivia Duray in the 64th minute of play to help secure the Bluejays sixth victory of the season.
With two assists last Wednesday, Horton became the first Bluejay freshman to record two assists in a game since Skylar Heinrich dished out two helpers against Oklahoma on Sept. 15, 2019, as a freshman.
Bouncing Back
Creighton doesn't lose many games by four or more goals, as it did at Xavier on Oct. 17. The Bluejays, however, bounced back claiming a 2-0 victory over UConn on Oct. 21.
Since the program started in 1989, Creighton has answered a four-plus goal defeat with a victory in its next game 15 times, including posting a multi-goal victory in 13 of those 15 wins.

Short Handed Victory
Sophomore Olivia Sides was issued a straight red card in the second half against Butler after denying a goal scoring opportunity in the box on Oct. 10. It marked the Bluejays second straight red card in as many years, after having not received a red card since 2022.
Despite playing a woman down for the final 11 minutes and change, and facing a penalty kick, Creighton secured the shorthanded win. It was the Bluejays second win since 2003 when playing shorthanded and first since playing a man down for 62 minutes against Seton Hall on Oct. 22, 2025.
Fast and Furious
Senior Olivia Duray wasted no time building Creighton's 1-0 lead against Butler on Oct. 10, netting one of the fastest goals by a Bluejay in program history.
Scoring a mere 30 seconds into Saturday's win over Butler, Duray became just the fifth Bluejay ever to score in the first minute of a match, while netting the fastest goal by a Bluejay since Lulu Quigley converted a penalty kick just 21 seconds into a contest against Western Illinois on Oct. 28, 2001.
In addition, it was the Bluejays first goal in the first minute of a match since Juelle Love netted a goal 41 seconds into a contest against Tulsa on Sept. 4, 2022.
Overall, Duray's goal 30 seconds in was the third fastest goal by a Bluejay player in program history, but the fourth fastest by Creighton overall as Missouri scored an own goal for the Bluejays' just 22 seconds into their match on August 20, 2023.

Like Father, Like Daughter
Freshman Gabby Wagenfuhr, the daughter of former Creighton men's soccer standout David Wagenfuhr, shined for the Bluejays last week, doing something her father was unable to do as a freshman back in 2000.
In the Bluejays setback at Marquette on Oct. 7, Gabby netted the first goal of her Bluejay career, delivered the equalizing goal in the 37th minute. of play.
It took Gabby just 12 matches to find the back of the net, while it took her father David 38 matches to score the first goal of his Bluejay career.
Overall, David finished his standout career (2000-03) with eight goals and 25 assists in 90 career matches.
In Search of Offense
Despite having a sharp defense that has posted seven clean sheets in the first 17 matches of the season, Creighton has grinded out a bunch of one-nil smash-and-grab contests.
In 17 matches this fall, Creighton has only managed to score 17 goals but enters Saturday's contest against DePaul with a chance to secure its third consecutive trip to the BIG EAST Tournament.
The Bluejays 17 goals are the fewest goals is in a single non-COVID season since the Jays scored just 16 goals in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
In spite of scoring only 17 goals this fall, CU has only score two goals in a match three times this season. If fact, Creighton's 2-1 win over Butler on Oct. 10 snapped a 13-match streak without scoring two goals in a match.
The 13 consecutive matches without scoring two goals were the longest stretch without scoring two goals in a match in program history, surpassing the previous longest mark of nine straight contests from the end of 2011 to the beginning of 2012.
Freshman Firsts
Coming off the beach with a 2-0 deficit looming the final minutes of a match against Villanova, Freshman Radleigh Childers delivered in a big way, netting the first goal of her Bluejay career.
Coming on a set piece, Olivia Duray looped a corner kick into the box, where Childers tapped in a touch pass from Taylor Yablonski just in front of goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 with her first goal as a Bluejay.
Being one of nine freshmen this season, Childers was the first to find the back of the net this fall with Gabby Wagenfuhr contributing a goal in the match at Marquette on Oct. 7.
