Kaleb Scharman is in his fifth year at Creighton, and third in a full-time role as the program’s technical coordinator. Scharman was promoted to his current role after serving two seasons as a graduate manager with the Bluejays.
Creighton is 119-17 in the four seasons with Scharman on the sideline, winning four BIG EAST Tournament titles and four BIG EAST regular-season titles while also being a national seed each year. The Bluejays have been ranked 62-of-64 weeks since Scharman’s arrival and won a program-record 32 matches in 2024.
He is responsible for filming practices and matches, recording stats using VolleyStation, helps with scouting, and assists with content for the @CreightonVB social accounts that are among the most popular in the sport.
Scharman came to the Bluejays after spending four years at Hope College (Holland, Michigan) in a similar role as a student assistant. At Hope, Scharman also was the President of the men’s club volleyball team. He managed the club team budget, coordinated their schedule, and helped teach the sport to his fellow teammates that were new to the game. Kaleb also gained experience and enjoyed coaching high school club volleyball during his senior year of college at Hope. He continues his coaching with Premier Volleyball, as well.
Scharman graduated from Hope in May of 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a minor in Communication. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Creighton in 2023. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, he played competitive volleyball for his high school and club teams.
