Mike Odom was promoted to Deputy Athletic Director, External Operations, on October 2, 2025.
In this elevated position, Odom will serve as a key strategic partner in the overall administration and vision of Creighton Athletics while continuing to oversee critical operational areas.
During his two years at Creighton, Mike has helped generate record revenues through program-best achievements in ticket sales, corporate partnerships and licensing, while leading the department to historic attendance marks including the first men's basketball season ticket sellout and multiple top-10 national attendance rankings across volleyball, women's basketball and men's soccer.
Under his leadership, Creighton's external operations have earned 10 NACMA 'Best Of' Awards and established new benchmarks in fan engagement, marketing excellence and student-athlete support. In addition, Odom serves as the sport administrator for men's basketball and baseball.
Odom was hired at Creighton on August 14, 2023 as Executive Associate AD for External Operations.
In his role as the Assistant Executive Director for Corporate Partnerships the ABCA, Odom oversaw the solicitation, relationships, fulfillment and management of over 70 companies and 30 official corporate partners. He set the record for most yearly corporate partnership revenue in the history of the ABCA each of his final two years.
Prior to working at the ABCA, Odom spent 18 years working at ACC schools, including 14 years at Wake Forest University (2006-20) and four years at North Carolina State University (2002-06).
Odom worked in a variety of roles at Wake Forest, starting as Director of Marketing and Promotions and working his way up to Associate Athletic Director, Strategic Communications and Championships.
He served as a member of Wake’s senior leadership team, managing and leading the strategic communications unit consisting of marketing and fan experience, licensing, athletic communications, video services, social media and external communications. He worked as WFU’s direct contact with Collegiate Licensing Company, and supervised all fan experience components for football, men’s basketball and all Olympic Sports, including pregame and in-game elements.
Odom served as the sport administrator for baseball and the men’s and women’s golf programs at various times in his tenure. He handled the role as the athletic department’s primary bowl administrator for the 2017 Belk Bowl, 2018 Birmingham Bowl and 2019 Pinstripe Bowl. He also executed all aspects of numerous special events including Wake The Demons, Wake Forest Pro Am, Spring Coaches Tour, First Pitch Dinner, Chris Paul Day and the Arnold Palmer Statue dedication. Odom also chaired the athletic staff council, which heads athletic department initiatives and leadership opportunities.
Earlier in his career at Wake Forest, Odom managed all marketing and sales efforts, including revenue generation, game day experience elements and marketing campaigns. Under his leadership, the marketing department received numerous best-in-class awards from NACMA and the Sports Video Group.
Odom spent two years as a graduate assistant at NC State before earning a promotion into a full-time role as Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions, a role he held for two years until moving to Wake Forest. Odom developed marketing plans and coordinated all advertising efforts, group sales and in-game promotions for men’s basketball and men’s soccer while with the Wolfpack.
A 2001 graduate of NC State with a bachelor’s degree in business management, Odom earned his master’s in parks, recreation and tourism management from NC State in 2004. As an undergraduate, he served as a men’s basketball team manager, including the role of head manager his final two years.
He and his wife, Kasey, have three children – sons Max (7) and Tate (5), as well as a daughter, Remi (3).
