Omaha’s blustery winters have been a long-standing issue for the Creighton University men’s and women’s golf programs. Freezing cold temperatures combined with limited indoor practice facility access and time constraints have made it difficult for our Bluejay golfers to compete at the highest level. Moving forward, Creighton Athletics has increased its commitment to the men’s and women’s golf programs by announcing the future addition of the Golf Learning Facility at Omaha Country Club. The Golf Learning Facility will allow our student athletes to work on every aspect of their game year round, regardless of weather, and the opportunity to compete for BIG EAST Conference championships.
The Golf Learning Facility features four heated hitting bays that open up to a driving range where golf balls can be hit. Each bay will also feature a TrackMan©, state-of-the-art golf equipment that features simulation of each shot along with video analysis capabilities for each swing and inferred technology. The building will also feature a spacious area to work on chipping and putting, the most fundamental aspect of the game.
Located just 10 minutes from campus, the facility will not only be an improvement to the current circumstances, but also provide a high-tech, convenient location to practice in the cold of winter while eliminating the long, inconvenient and occasionally dangerous drive to other public facilities.
