Flynn-Jensen was a starter in 92 of her 95 career games as a Bluejay, overcoming a pair of ACL injuries in the process. Jensen was named MVC Freshman of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in 1992-93 after leading the team in scoring, rebounding and steals.
One year later, Flynn-Jensen helped the Jays to a 24-7 season that saw them reach the second-round of the NCAA Tournament. She led the team in scoring and earned first-team all-MVC accolades while also being tabbed MVC Defensive Player of the Year. Flynn set a school-record with 105 steals, and also recorded the first triple-double in school history.
Flynn-Jensen led the team in scoring a third-straight season in 1994-95. The junior was again named first-team all-MVC, and was also tabbed a second-team Academic All-American. Sadly, her season was cut short when she tore the ACL in her left knee in the regular-season finale vs. Indiana State.
Less than eight months later, Flynn-Jensen would take the floor to start the first seven games of her senior season. A preseason all-Valley selection, she was leading the team in rebounding and second in scoring when she tore the ACL in her right knee in a Dec. 20 game. Despite the injury, Flynn-Jensen returned to the floor in less than 11 weeks and played in final three games of the season.
Flynn-Jensen graduated from Creighton in 1996 with a B.A. in psychology and journalism and then went on to earn her masters in clinical psychology from the University of Dayton. Flynn has spent the past seven seasons as an assistant coach with the University of South Dakota women’s basketball program.
Flynn-Jensen came to Creighton after a standout prep career at Wakonda (S.D.) high school, where she graduated as the state’s all-time leading scorer with 3,268 points. She made her debut on the varsity team as a seventh-grader and was named South Dakota’s Miss Basketball in 1991 after her senior season.
