Brian Biggerstaff's goal in the third minute proved to be all the offense CU would need. The senior's fourth goal of the year at the 2:11 mark came when he got behind a UE defender and then goalkeeper Corey Southers on the right side and tapped the shot into an open net.
Matt Wieland maintained his recent offensive production by scoring an insurance goal in the 32nd minute. His header off of a Joan Carvajal free kick was the senior's fourth goal of the year, with all four scores coming in the last four matches to equal his previous season-high.
Sophomore Matt Allen was up to the task in goal for the Jays, stopping eight shots to record the Jays' sixth shutout of the season, and his fifth solo blanking. CU put seven of its 11 shots on goal, while the Aces out-shot CU with 12 attempts, but only four on net.
The win snapped a two-game skid for the Bluejays and moved the team to 3-3-2 in matches away from
Creighton returns home for its final regular-season match next Saturday when the Jays play host to Vanderbilt. CU and Vandy will play an afternoon tilt on Senior Day for five Bluejay players. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. for the regular-season finale.
