OMAHA, Neb. - Brittney Neumann scored twice as the Creighton women's soccer team won its eighth straight match, extending its longest winning streak since 1994, with a 3-0 win over Evansville on Saturday at Morrison Stadium.
Creighton improved to 10-2-2 on the season and is alone in first in the Missouri Valley Conference with a 3-0-0 league mark. Evansville fell to 3-8-1 (0-2-0 MVC) on the season.
Creighton scored first in the 37th minute when Brittney Neumann scored her seventh goal of the season, beating UE keeper Chaviel Harrison to the lower right side. Assists on the play were credited to Kelly Connolly and Lauren Cingoranelli.

Neumann scored her second goal of the day and MVC-best eighth time this season in the 75th minute, blasting a shot from 20 yards out into the upper right corner of the net. Laura Nasseri fed Neumann on the score.
Cingoranelli tacked on an insurance goal in the 84th minute, beating Harrison near post of a feed from Andrea Zuniga. The score was the fifth of the season for the freshman.
"Obviously I was pleased with the number of scoring chances we created today," said head coach Bruce Erickson after the win. "To score three goals, take 29 shots, have a 9-0 edge on corner kicks and have the amount of possession we did today was fantastic. Getting Brittney on the board twice was nice and we had the better attack today. I thought we played enough defense to earn the shutout today as well."
Alicia Montgomery made four saves in net for the Jays to post the shutout.
Creighton outshot the Purple Aces, 29-5 for the match and dominated possession, spending nearly the majority of the match attacking.
Creighton wore pink jerseys with blue numbers in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Creighton returns to action on Thursday with a 7 pm home match vs. Drake.
