Men's Soccer Rankings on the Rise

OMAHA, Neb. - After spending two weeks at No. 16 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, the Bluejays have moved up to No. 13 in the NSCAA rankings this week. The Bluejays played just one match last week, defeating Wisconsin 1-0 in overtime last Friday.
Creighton's highest ranking comes from Soccer America, which ranks the Jays No. 12 this week. Soccer Times has Creighton ranked No. 13 and College Soccer News ranks the 6-1-0 Bluejays at No. 14.
The Bluejays rank 24th in the NCAA in both scoring (2.14 goals per game) and goals against average (0.69). Creighton has logged five shutouts in seven matches this year to rank fourth in the country in shutout percentage. Jose Gomez ranks third in the NCAA with six assists and Ethan Finlay's five goals rank him 15th in the nation in scoring.
Creighton, which has posted three home shutouts in three tries this year, will open Missouri Valley Conference play on Friday night when it plays host to Eastern Illinois at Morrison Stadium. Kickoff of the MVC opener with the Panthers (3-4-0) is set for 7 p.m.
