Cross Country Competes at Woody Greeno Invite

Wichita State swept the titles by claiming team victories on both the men and women's side.
Nebraska's Joe Harter finished the men's 8,000m run first overall with a time of 25:50. Nebraska's Anna Peer won the women's 6,000m event with a 21:45 time.
The Bluejays went with a slightly different lineup on Saturday in order to rest some of their top runners on both squads for next weekend. Freshman David Rice was the top Bluejay on the men's squad. Rice finished 39th overall with a time of 28:12. Freshman Ty Medd finished second for the Bluejays with a 28:19 time to finish 41st overall. Drew Prescott finished third with a time of 28:22 to earn a 42nd place finish. Eric Klein finished 49th with a 28:40 time. Freshman Jacob Ohnstad finished 25th with a time of 28:44 to round out the men's top five.
Freshman Dayle Dickens led the way for the Bluejay women, finishing 46th overall with a time of 24:35. Maile Shigemasa finished 50th with a time of 24:49. Anna Weirick finished 56th with a time of 25:04. Freshman Logan Lucas' 25:24 was enough for a 60th place finish, while freshman Grace Mimmack finished 62nd with a time of 25:30 to round out the women's top five.
The Bluejays will be back in action at the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 27 in Stillwater, Okla.
