Kenyon Wins Bradley Classic In Final Tune-Up For BIG EAST Championship

Kenyon wins race among 249 entrants while Ogg Sets School Record
PEORIA, Ill. -- The Creighton women's cross country team finished 10th and the men 20th, at the Bradley Classic on Friday. Creighton, Iowa, Illinois State and Nebraska were among the 26 teams participating in the men's race and the 30 teams participating in the women's race in this year's run at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill.
Illinois earned team honors on the men's side, while Illinois State claimed a team victory on the women's side.
Creighton's unattached Garrett Kenyon finished the men's 8K run first overall out of 249 runners with a time of 23:48. South Dakota's Amber Eichkorn won the women's 6K event with a 20:11 time.
Junior Eric Klein was the top Bluejay on the men's squad in this week's race. Klein finished 133rd in the 8K with a time of 25:51. Trailing Klein by one second, Jake Landreth finished second for the Bluejays with a 25:52 time to finish 134th overall. Michael Holdsworth finished 162nd with a time of 26:12. David Rice finished 174th overall posting a time of 26:23 and Jacob Ohnstad finished 176th with a 26:24 time to round out the men's top five.
Freshman Lauren Ogg was the top finisher for the women's squad this week. Ogg set a school record in the 6K run by posting a 20:58 time for a 12th place finish. Maddie Ivy placed 27th overall with a time of 21:17. Emily Martin finished 73rd with a 21:53 time and Megan Paule finished 84th with a 21:59 time. Senior Emily Mauser placed 100th overall with a time of 22:08 to complete the Bluejay top five.
The Bluejays will compete at the BIG EAST Championships on Oct. 31 in Mason, Ohio at Queen City Park.
