Baseball Posts Season-High 15 Runs to Sweep Stetson, 15-5

OMAHA, Neb. - Behind a season-high 19 hits and 15 runs, the Creighton Baseball team completed the sweep of the Stetson Hatters, 15-5, on Sunday, March 29.
The win pushed Creighton to 15-7 on the season, while Stetson fell to 14-15. Creighton also extended its winning streak to a season-high seven games.
The Bluejays put up a crooked number in four frames as Creighton scored four in the second, two in the third, three in the fifth and five in the eighth for the easy win.
One of the impressive aspects of Sunday's victory was the Bluejays ability to respond each time Stetson got on the board. The Hatters scored single runs in the third and the fifth and put up three in the eighth. In each frame the Bluejays responded by winning the inning.
The Bluejays got off to a fast start with four runs in the fourth on an RBI single from senior Kevin Lamb, a two-run single from sophomore Daniel Woodrow and an RBI groundout from senior Daivd Wiedeman.
Back-to-back extra base knocks propelled Creighton in the third as junior Harrison Crawford ripped a one-out double into left, then junior Brett Murray lined a triple into the right field corner. The next batter, junior Ryan Fitzgerald brought home Murray on a sac fly.
Fitzgerald got the Bluejays kick started again in the fifth with a solo home run to right, then junior Reagan Fowler capped the frame with a two-run double to left.
Pinch-hitter Landon Lucansky provided an RBI single in the sixth, while Creighton's five runs in the eighth came on a two-run double from Lamb, a sac fly by Woodrow and a two-run double by Fowler.
