Scouting Arkansas (30-19, 15-11 SEC)
Arkansas stumbled early this season, beginning SEC play with a 1-5 mark. Since dropping a series to LSU in late March, though, the Razorbacks are 19-8 overall and 14-6 in conference play.
Led by six players hitting over .300, Arkansas enters Tuesday's contest with a team average .292. The biggest bat in the Razorbacks' lineup belongs to Andrew Benintendi, hitting .405 with 70 hits and 16 home runs. The slugging outfielder is fourth in the NCAA in long balls.
On the mound the Razorbacks have a team ERA of 4.24. James Teague will get the start on Tuesday, his seventh start of 2015. Teague has a 3.95 ERA, with 24 walks in 41 innings.
Scouting Creighton (27-14, 10-4 BIG EAST)
Having clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament over the weekend, Creighton enters its the final week of play knowing the Bluejays will have a chance to reach the NCAA Tournament on their home field.
The Bluejays also know that the chances of an at-large bid are almost nill. As a result the Bluejays will approach this week as an opportunity to set their rotation and get the pitching staff a little work.
Against Arkansas on Tuesday, Connor Miller will get the start but the Bluejays expect to see several arms out of the bullpen.
While Not the Trading Deadline,
Bluejays Add Three Arms and Bat for Stretch Run
Over the past three weeks the Bluejays have seen seniors Jack Rogalla, Max Ising and Mark Lukowski all return from injuries to bolster the Creighton bullpen. Since returning to the bump the trio have made five appearances for a combined 0.00 ERA over 3.2 innings, allowing two hits and recording three strikeouts.
Behind the dish, freshman Luke Horanski saw his first action in over a month against South Dakota State on April 29. He went on to go 2-for-4 with two RBI over the two contests in the Seton Hall series.
