
Sullivan and Jakubowski Claim All-BIG EAST Honors

New York, N.Y. -- Senior Lauren Sullivan and freshman Taryn Jakubowski each earned richly deserved recognition from the BIG EAST on Tuesday, Nov. 1 as Sullivan was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and Jakubowski claimed a spot on the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team.
Sullivan closed the regular season as the BIG EAST leader in points (30), points per game (1.76) and goals per game (0.71), while she was tied for the conference lead in goals (12). She also finished tied for fourth in the conference in assists (6) and assists per game (0.35). Sullivan led the Bluejays in each category and set the school record by scoring a goal in eight consecutive contests from Sept. 4 - Oct. 9. She closed her career tied for second in Creighton history with 32 goals and is third in points with 73. This is the third BIG EAST honor for Sullivan as she was All-BIG EAST Second Team in 2014 and 2015.
In just her first season at Creighton, Jakubowski finished second in goals (4), points (14) and tied for the team lead with six assists. Taryn delivered the game-winning goal against South Dakota State (W, 2-1) on Sept. 4. She started each of the Bluejays' 17 contests, playing the second most minutes at 1,505.
