Scouting South Dakota State (0-0)
The Jackrabbits always present a tough game for Creighton. Coached by Aaron Johnston, South Dakota State is a disciplined team that shoots the long ball at high volume and run a motion offense. In many ways the Jackrabbits parallel the Bluejays.
SDSU is even more of a test at home, but the Bluejays are one of the few teams to have faired well in Frost Arena. South Dakota State returns all five starters from last season
The Jackrabbits are a team that depends heavily on its starting five. The unit of Macy Mills, Kerri Young, Madison Guebert, Ellie Thompson and Clarissa Ober combined to average 55.8 points for a team that scored 70.1 per contest last season (79.6%).

Keys to the Game w/South Dakota State
- Fast Start: Playing on the road with a hostile crowd makes the first quarter particularly important for the Bluejays. Creighton can ill afford to get behind early. Â
- Getting SDSU in foul trouble: In the Bluejays victory in Brookings two seasons ago, Creighton got the Jackrabbits in foul trouble to force more reliance on the bench.
- Janning's decision making: For the handful of game last season that Marissa Janning was healthy, Creighton was at its best when she was finding teammates. In the first two contests she had a combined 19 assists to lead Creighton to a 2-0 start. When she can dish and score, the Bluejays will be very dangerous.

Scouting Wichita State (0-0)
Wichita State went through a rebuilding season last year. One player that shined for the Shockers last season was Rangie Bessard, who averaged 15.5 ppg. Her efforts were rewarded with a
selection to the All-MVC Preseason team. Wichita State is also expected to get significant contributions from senior guard TaQuandra Mike as well as Jyar Francis. Â

Keys to the Game w/Wichita State
- Crash the Glass: The Shockers have
- consistently been a team driven by defense. One important thing is to make certain Wichita State does not get second chance opportunities. Â
- Control the Dribble: Wichita State will
- pressure the basketball and try to get the Bluejays out of sync offensively. Creighton will needs to pay extra attention to taking care of the ball.
- Focus on Stopping the Basketball: Offensively the Shockers are known as a dribble penetration team. One way to slow down the Wichita State offense is to force the extra pass.
