Creighton and Cox offer Cox Kids Day on Wednesday, Dec. 7
Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's basketball team will host the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks on Wednesday, Dec. 7 as the two teams play in front of more than 1,000 children for Cox Kids Day at D.J. Sokol Arena. The game is set to tip at 12:00 pm.

The Mavericks lead the overall series with the Bluejays 15-11, but Creighton has won the last 10 meetings. Last season the Bluejays went to Baxter Arena on Dec. 20, 2015 as Creighton downed Nebraska-Omaha 69-46. The Bluejays and Mavericks renewed their rivalry in 2014 with a contest in D.J. Sokol Arena after not having played since 1988. The last Maverick victory came in 1982.

Cox Kids Day
Head coach Jim Flanery and the 3-3 Bluejays will host Nebraska-Omaha on Cox Kids Day Wednesday afternoon at D.J. Sokol Arena inside the Wayne & Eileen Ryan Athletic Center (12:05 p.m., tip-off).
Owens Expected to Redshirt 2016-17
Out for the first six games of the 2016-17 season, junior point guard Jade Owens underwent exploratory surgery on her right hip on Nov. 30. During the procedure a partially torn ligament was confirmed, sidelining the Illinois native for at least 8-12 weeks. With the season already in its second month, Owens is expected to redshirt the 2016-17 season.
Janning Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll
Authoring one of her better games of the season, senior Marissa Janning's effort against Kansas on Wednesday, Nov. 30 earned her a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll.
Janning finished with 15 points on 6-of-9 from the field.
Bluejays Improve to 49-1 Under Flan When Shooting 50%
During Jim Flanery's tenure at the helm for Creighton, the Bluejays have shot 50% or more in 50 contests. Creighton has won 49 of those games, falling just once on Nov. 11, 2006 to Arkansas-Little Rock (66-55).
