Men's Tennis Downed By UMKC, 6-1

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to UMKC on Saturday, March 19. Following the loss the Bluejays are 6-5 on the season, while UMKC moved to 8-6.

The Bluejays fell behind 1-0 as Creighton dropped each of the doubles matches by a 6-3 score.

In singles competition the Bluejays got an early win at the No. 2 position from sophomore Alex Koca as the Kansas native defeated Andrey Smirnov, 6-2, 6-3. Creighton, however, dropped the third set in both the third and fourth singles positions.

Creighton returns to action on Saturday, April 1 as the Bluejays battle BIG EAST rival Marquette at 12:00 pm in Milwaukee, Wis.
