Men's Tennis Seniors Go Out Victorious In Final Home Match

OMAHA, Neb. -- Playing at home for the final time, four seniors combined to win six matches as the Creighton men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory over Hastings on Senior Day at Hanscom Indoor Tennis Center. Quinn Dippel and August Nysted each won twice, while Anthony Rauschenbach and Nick Thompson both won once on Saturday.
Creighton's third straight win evens its record to 9-9 headed into Thursday's BIG EAST Championships in Cayce, S.C. Hastings fell to 9-14.
CU won 2-of-3 doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead, with seniors playing a big factor in both victories. Dippel and Thompson won 6-3 at No. 3, while Harrison Lang paired with Nysted at No. 1 doubles for a 6-1 triumph.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets.
Dippel won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Rauschenbach won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Nysted made his season debut in singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Ben Petry at No. 5 singles.
Rounding out Creighton's victories in singles play were Alex Koca at No. 2, Aaron Chalstrom at No.3 (both men won 6-1, 6-1) and Jake Glazer at No. 4 singles by a 6-1, 6-2 margin.
