Athletic Department Honored For Work On Four Publications By CoSIDA

2015-16 CoSIDA Publications Results

DALLAS, Texas -- Creighton University Athletics earned five awards of national recognition on four publications at the recently-completed College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Workshop held in Dallas, including four "Best in Nation" awards.

More than 40 colleges, universities and conference offices were honored overall, but Creighton's five honors were tied for fifth-most nationally. Creighton was also the only BIG EAST school recognized.

Three of the honors went towards publications involving Creighton's men's soccer. The men's soccer media guide was voted "Best in Nation" while the media guide cover earned a similar honor. Sports Information Director Rob Anderson, Assistant Director of Marketing-Multimedia & Design Chris Newhouse and former Assistant Sports Information Director Jeremy Strachan contributed on the men's soccer media guide.

Creighton's volleyball gameday program was honored with "Best in Nation" status. The programs were designed by Anderson and former Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions Tracy Whitfield.

Creighton's men's basketball game program also was recognized with "Best in Nation" acclaim, with Anderson, Director of Sales Tim Callahan and Director of Marketing Joe Willman contributing.

The men's soccer poster was tabbed second-best among fall sports posters nationwide, with Newhouse and Anderson assisting in the production.

The 2016 award haul gives the Creighton Sports Information Office 12 recognitions in the last nine years for its excellence in publications, writing and overall service to the media.
