Women's Golf Places 14th at MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial

Sarah Eversman ties for 31st place after a final round 74.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Creighton Women's Golf team finished in 14th place at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial, which concluded on Tuesday at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo.
South Dakota State won the meet with a three-round total of 896, besting a field of 15 teams by three shots. South Dakota's Brenna Lervick topped a field of 89 competitors with a three-over par total of 216 on the course that measured 5,961 yards.
The Bluejays shot rounds of 321, 320 and 318 to finish with a 54-hole total of 959.
Sarah Eversman was the top golfer for CU in both the first and third rounds and finished with rounds of 75, 83 and 74 for a 232 total that was good for 31st place overall.
Kelsey Petersen also fired a pair of rounds in the 70's. She opened with a 79 and 77 before a final-round 80 to finish in a tie for 46th place at 236.
Rounding out CU's line-up were Sydney Gillespie (83-82-82=247, T70th), Kelsey Johnson (86-78-86=250, T73rd) and Caroline Lake (84-85-82=251, 77th)
Creighton returns to the course on Sept. 25-27 at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln, Neb.
