Cross Country Competes at Briar Cliff Invitational

North Sioux City, S.D. – Three members of the Creighton men's and women's cross country squads competed at the Briar Cliff Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 8. The Bluejays did not meet the minimum of five runners per gender to post a team score.
Freshman Amy Leasure placed eighth overall in the women's 5k with a time of 19:46.48, while fellow freshman Mairead (Maggie) Nash placed 99th with a time of 23:04.18.
The lone men's runner, freshman Chris Smith, finished in 66th with a time of 28:35.31 in the 8k event.
The Bluejay women's team returns to action at the NCAA Pre-Nationals at Louisville, Kentucky on Oct.14, while the men's squad's next meet is the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara, Calif., also held on Oct. 14.
