Baseball Battles Kansas in Final Regular Season Home Game of 2017

Omaha, Neb. -- In the Bluejays final home game of the regular season, Creighton battles Kansas at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. A special fan appreciation beverage promotion will be offered for all fans in attendance on Tuesday night when the Bluejays host the Kansas Jayhawks at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The promotion, available from 6:00 p.m., until first pitch (7:05 p.m.), will include 12-ounce beers and soft drinks for $1.00 each at designated concession stand locations within the ballpark. Following the game will be a fireworks show presented by Bellino Fireworks.

The Jayhawks will send Blake Goldsberry to the bump for his first start of the season. He has thrown 26 innings, allowing 29 hits and 17 runs. The team brings a 4.04 ERA to TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. while closer Stephen Viliness has an impressive 14 saves this season and a 2.63 ERA.

Heading into the final week of the regular season the Bluejays have already reached the first goal of the 2017 season, qualify for the BIG EAST Baseball Championship. The next goal for Creighton is within reach as the Bluejays enter their series at Butler in first place, by percentage points, in the conference at 10-3 (.769). St. John's is nipping at Creighton's heels as the Red Storm entering a weekend series with Villnova at 11-4 (.733). To claim the regular season crown, the Bluejays need to sweep Butler in Indianapolis. Creighton can also claim the title if it wins at least one game and has the same record over the weekend as St. John's.
