Cincinnati by a 3-0 score on Oct. 25, 2015. Last season in Omaha, Creighton put up six goals in a 6-1 win over the Musketeers on Oct. 23, 2016. Those six goals are the most that the Bluejays have scored in a BIG EAST contest.

Scouting Xavier (4-4-2, 0-0-0 BIG EAST)
The Musketeers return seven starters and 19 letterwinners from a squad that went 7-11-1 last season, including 1-8-0 in BIG EAST play. Following the 2016 season, Xavier made a coaching change as Nate Lie has taken over the reigns for the Musketeers.
Xavier has been up and down throughout its non-conference schedule. The Musketeers, however, have not gone more than two matches without a win this season. Xavier's last two matches ended in overtime as the Musketeers battled Kent State to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 14, then fell to Dayton 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 17.
The Musketeers have played at home for a vast majority of the 2017 season, going 4-2-2. Sunday's match with the Bluejays will be Xavier's fourth consecutive match at home.
A trio of players lead the Xavier offense with three goals this season; Samantha Dewey, Sydney Schembri and Emma Westwater. A junior transfer from Canisius College, Westwater leads the squad with seven points, adding one assist to her three goals.
Defensively the Musketeers have allowed more than one goal at home, just once, in the first match of the season. Goalkeeper Toni Bizzarro boasts a 1.38 goals against average as she has surrendered 13 goals in just under 851 minutes.
Conference Openers
The battle with Xavier will be Creighton's 21st conference opener. The Bluejays are 12-6-2 overall in the opening match of a conference season. Since joining the BIG EAST, Creighton is 1-3-0 in the first match of conference play. The victory came last season over Marquette, 3-2 in double overtime.
A New Opponent to Begin BIG EAST Play
For the first time since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season, Creighton will begin conference play with a team other than Marquette as the Bluejays battle Xavier on Sunday.
The previous four seasons began against the Golden Eagles.
