Women's Soccer Opens BIG EAST Home Schedule Against DePaul on Sunday

Series History: Creighton trails DePaul, 0-4-0
The Bluejays and Blue Demons have met four times previous with DePaul claiming each meeting. Creighton is 0-2 against the Blue Demons in Omaha, falling 4-0 in the last meeting in 2015. Last season in DePaul, Creighton dropped a 4-2 contest in the final match of September.

Traditionally a power in the BIG EAST, the DePaul Blue Demons have hit a bit of a rough patch over the last three matches, going 0-2-1 including a loss and a tie to open BIG EAST play.
DePaul returned eight starters and 18 letterwinners from a squad that went 10-6-3 last season, including a 7-2-0 BIG EAST mark to claim a share of the regular-season conference title.
Prior to the last three matches, DePaul's season has been up and down. The Blue Demons dropped tough matches to #23 Northwestern (1-0) and Illinois (2-1) to start the season, then rebounded with easy wins over Akron (5-0) and Drexel. Two more lossess followed at Purdue (2-0) and at #12 Texas A&M (2-0), but defeated Pepperdine (1-0) and William & Mary (4-0).
The primary difference has been the Blue Demons inability to win on the road, DePaul is 0-5-0 away from home this season.
Offensively the Blue Demons are led by 12 points (five goals and two assists) from Franny Cerny and nine points (four goals and one assist) from Alexa Ben.
Defensively DePaul has been steadied by goalkeeper Lauren Frasca's 1.29 goals against average. DePaul's four victories have all come via shutout, while the Blue Demons are 0-6-1 when allowing a goal.
Blach Picks Up Bluejays' First Red Card Since 2011
Freshman Haylee Blach's red card in the loss to St. John's was the first disqualification by a Creighton player since Erin Gunther earned a red card against Oklahoma State on Sept. 2, 2011.
