Scouting DePaul (11-5, 3-1 BE)
DePaul is one of the most balanced offenses in the BIG EAST if not in the country. The Blue Demons have six players averaging at least 9.8 ppg, led by Mart'e Grays at 14.1 ppg. Just a tick back is Ashton Millender at 14.0 ppg, while Amarah Coleman (12.4 ppg), Chante Stonewall (11.0 ppg) , Kelly Campbell (11.0 ppg) and Tanita Allen (9.8 ppg) round out the group.
Similar to Marquette, DePaul prefers to push the tempo of the game and play a high possession contest. To that end the Blue Demons are adept at getting in the passing lanes and causing turnovers. DePaul averages 10.4 steals and forces 20.3 turnovers per game.

Conversely Creighton is allowing 71.4 ppg at home, yet give up just 66.0 ppg on the road.
Condensed Schedule Contributed to Creighton Woes

and to Marquette (92-77 on Jan. 7).
In addition to having just 40 hours of recovery and prep time between games, the Bluejays left Carnesecca Arena at approximately 10:00 pm. From there the Jays bused to a hotel in Newark, then flew to Omaha the following morning.
Prior to facing the Red Storm, Creighton battled the snow storm referred to as the "bomb cyclone". The result was a week without real practice.
