Women's Basketball Takes on Iowa in the First Round of NCAA Tournament

Los Angeles, Calif. -- Facing the Hawkeyes for the first time since 2006, Creighton takes on six seed Iowa for a spot in the next round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, March 17 at 5:00 pm (CT) on ESPN2.

Iowa has been an odd team this season, opening the year with 14 victories in their first 15 contests.
After getting off to the hot start, the Hawkeyes dropped five of seven games during the month of January. Iowa rallied to close the season with eight straight wins before succombing to Minnesota in the Big Ten Tournament.
Post player Megan Gustafson is the key for the Hawkeyes, averaging 25.6 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. Two other Hawkeyes are posting double figures with Kathleen Doyle (11.1 ppg), Makenzie Meyer (11.0 ppg) combining to average 22.1 ppg.
Defensively the Hawkeyes force 16.2 turnovers per game and average 5.3 blocks per game.
