Rowing Finishes Sixth at WCC Championships

Sacramento, Calif. -- The Creighton Rowing team closed the WCC Championship with a sixth place finish on Saturday, May 12.
The Bluejays grabbed nine of their 12 team points in the Varsity 8 race, placing fifth with a time of 7:03.964. Creighton placed seventh in each of the subsequent two races in the Varsity II 8 and the Varsity 4.
Two Bluejays were honored with a spot on the All-WCC Squad as Maddie Eyer and Mackenzie Hatcher earned spots on the postseason team.
"The conference has continued to get faster and faster, yet we are consistently closing the gap," said head coach Dan Chipps. "Our Varsity 8 was just eight seconds away from earning a medal, which is a huge improvement. Overall I'm very proud of the year this squad has had."
