Ryan Tapani Collects NCBWA Second Team All-America Honors

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton senior Ryan Tapani earned his second All-America honor of 2018 as the right-hander was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Second Team All-American on Wednesday, June 13th.
The Bluejay ace collected 10 wins (10-1) in 14 starts, finishing his Bluejay career tied for the best winning percentage in school history at 13-2 (.867). Ryan tossed 94.1 innings in 2018, collecting 95 strikeouts and an impressive 2.38 ERA. In BIG EAST action, the right-hander was 4-1 in six starts.
Tapani was named a Third Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on the final day of May. Ryan was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 21st round with the 641st pick of the MLB draft. He has already signed with the Nationals and has reported to Florida for assignment.
