- Ryan appeared in 14 games as a Bluejay, earning the start against Nebraska-Omaha contest on May 9.
- Tapani tossed a combined 25.2 innings, with 26 strikeouts.
- Ryan shined down the stretch, allowing just one run in his final three outings (a combined 7.2 innings).
2016 (Junior)
- After transferring to Creighton, Tapani redshirted the 2016 season.
2014-15 (at St. Olaf College)
- Ryan spent his first two seasons at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
- He appeared in three games as a sophomore, starting two. Ryan tossed 16 innings, allowing just two earned runs for a 1.12 ERA. He recorded 19 strikeouts and walked two that season.
- During his freshman campaign, Tapani appeared in nine games with eight starts. He closed the season with a 4-3 record over 51.2 innings. Ryan led the Oles with a 4.18 ERA, striking out 39 and walking just five batters.
2009-13 (Providence Academy)
- Playing his final season for his father, former MLB pitcher Kevin Tapani, Ryan was a First Team All-Metro selection in each of his final two seasons.
- He went on to represent Providence in the Minnesota All-Star Game.
- Ryan was also an accomplished hockey player for Providence, earning four letters on the ice.
