Women's Soccer Heads to Nation's Capital to Face #10 Georgetown on Sunday

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's soccer team continues it's most difficult portion of the BIG EAST schedule as the Bluejays face #10 Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, Oct. 13th at 12:00 pm (CT).

Scouting Creighton (7-5-1, 1-2-1 BE)
Coming off a tough 1-0 overtime loss to Butler and a 1-1 double-overtime draw with Marquette, the Bluejays will look to get back on the right foot with a road trip to Georgetown.
Creighton's offense has slowed a bit in BIG EAST play as the Bluejays have scored four goals in four matches. Freshman Skylar Heinrich has remained impressive with a pair of BIG EAST goals and nine on the season.
Bluejay netminder Katie Sullivan has guided the Creighton defense to 6-3-1, while posting three shutouts and a 1.00 GAA in ten matches in net. Sullivan has collected 46 saves, while allowing just ten goals.
Scouting #10 Georgetown (10-2-1, 4-0-0 BE)
After starting the year off with tough competition and a 2-2-1 record, the Hoyas are riding a eight-match winning streak dating back to Sept. 8. During the eight-match winning streak the Hoyas have outscored their opponents 29-5. In the four BIG EAST contests, the Hoyas have posted three shutouts, taking down Marquette (3-0), Villanova (2-0) and Providence (4-0).
Offensively, 13 different players have scored goals for the Hoyas with 15 scoring at least one point. Georgetown is led by senior Amanda Carolan with 22 points, scoring nine goals and collecting four assists. She us also the BIG EAST leader in points. Freshman goalkeeper Anna Leat minds the net posting an 8-2-1 record. Leat has collected 27 saves, while allowing just 10 goals and posting five shutouts.
Bluejays Against Ranked Teams
Creighton's battle with #10 Georgetown gives the Bluejays their first chance in 2019 to take down a ranked opponent. The Bluejays are 1-13-2 against ranked opposition, posting a victory in 1994 over #12 Wisconsin, a draw with #12 Georgetown in 2017 and a draw with #19 Nebraska in 2002.
The Bluejays are 0-3-1 against ranked opponents under head coach Ross Paule.
