AVCA Top 25 Poll | NCAA Volleyball RPI

OMAHA, Neb. -- Buoyed by 19 wins in its last 20 matches, the Creighton Volleyball team continued its climb in the rankings by moving from 12th to 10th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll that was released on Monday, November 25th.

The Bluejays are 24-4 on the season and won their unprecedented sixth straight BIG EAST regular-season title last weekend with 3-1 wins over No. 9 Marquette and unranked DePaul.

No. 1 Baylor (23-1), No. 6 Nebraska (23-4), No. 9 Washington (23-5) and unranked Villanova (22-8) are the lone teams to beat the Bluejays thus far and have combined for a 91-18 record. Marquette dropped from No. 9 to No. 12 after losing to Creighton for a second time this fall.

Baylor regained the spot in the poll after a 3-2 win over previous No. 1 Texas, which dropped to fourth. Five teams picked up first place votes in this week's poll.

This week marks the 52nd consecutive week the Bluejays have been ranked, the nation's 10th-longest active streak. The Bluejays have now been ranked in 66 all-time polls, and every poll since Oct. 31, 2016. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017.

This week also marks the 21st time in program history that Creighton has been in the top-10, and fourth week this fall. CU was previously 10th on October 21st before ascending to a season-best ninth on both October 28 and November 4.

The Bluejays also moved from 20th to 17th in the eighth official RPI listings released by the NCAA. Creighton, which appeared in the NCAA RPI rankings at No. 10 on October 14, has dropped seven spots in the NCAA RPI despite winning 11 of 12 matches since the initial reveal. It is also one spot worse than the program's RPI ranking at this time each of the last two years. Both of those CU teams ended up with the No. 9 national seed.

Creighton is 111-26 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll. The Bluejays (24-4, 17-1 BIG EAST) return to the court on Friday at 5:30 p.m. when it meets St. John's (20-11, 12-6 BIG EAST) in semifinal round action of the BIG EAST Championship, Presented by Jeep, in Milwaukee, Wis.
