Bluejays and Mavericks Reschedule Baseball Battle for Day/Night Doubleheader on April 30

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton baseball head coach Ed Servais and UNO head coach Evan Porter were forced to get creative to find a date to reschedule Wednesday's game that was postponed by weather. Limited by dwindling open dates and the impact of the conference season for both schools, Servais and Porter have agreed to play a doubleheader on April 30th. The twist is that in an effort to allow the two squads to still play in Werner Park the games will be a day/night doubleheader played in both TD Ameritrade Park at 6:30 pm and at Werner Park at 1:00 pm.

Creighton and UNO were already scheduled to meet at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha for an evening game on the 30th, but will first battle at Werner Park at 1:00 pm.

Coach Servais noted several key factors in rescheduling the game lost on Wednesday. Servais feels it important to the players on both sides to keep as the game remaining on the schedule, allow his squad the opportunity to play in Werner Park, maintaining the budding rivalry with the Mavericks and giving the local community another chance to see two teams face off.

Tonight the Bluejays begin a series with Kansas State at 6:30 pm in TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
