Scouting Nebraska (3-0, 1-0 Big Ten)
The Huskers enter the intrastate battle with the Bluejays sporting an unblemished record for the second consecutive season.
Nebraska opened the season with three straight home games, besting Oral Roberts (90-61 on Dec. 4), Idaho State (64-51 on Dec. 6), then defeating Illinois (78-72 on Dec. 10) to open Big Ten action.
Nebraska has played just eight players to this point and has only 11 on its roster. The smaller rotation seems to have helped the Huskers as Nebraska enters the game with Creighton shooting 42.0% as a team. More impressive is the Huskers ability to rebound as Nebraska is averaging 50.3 boards per game.
Leading the way on the offensive end are the trio of Sam Haiby (17.7 ppg), Isabelle Bourne (14.7 ppg) and Annika Stewart (10.3 ppg).
Defensively Nebraska has equally been impressive with just under eight steals per game with 23 in three contest (7.7).
Scouting Creighton (1-3, 1-0 BIG EAST)
Creighton found their offensive rhythm in the BIG EAST Conference opener at Butler on Dec. 6, scoring 88 points in the most lopsided Bluejay win since joining the conference. Making her season debut, senior point guard Tatum Rembao finished with 10 points, one rebound and three assists. Beyond her personal stats, Rembao's presence allowed her teammates to settle into normal roles. The result was 20 assists on 30 made baskets, including 15 treys. Five Bluejays closed the game in double-figures, led by 16 points from freshman Morgan Maly.
