BIG EAST Unveils Remainder of Men's Basketball Schedule

Conference announces 16 more Creighton games
OMAHA, Neb. -- The BIG EAST Conference has announced the schedule for Creighton men's basketball's final 16 league games during the 2020-21 season.
 Creighton opens league play tonight when it hosts Marquette at 8 p.m. before visiting St. John's on Thursday at 4 p.m. Central. Games had already been on tap for next week at Connecticut (Dec. 20) and at home vs. Xavier (Dec. 23). All four of those games will be televised nationally on FS1.
Today's announcement includes eight road games, starting with trips to Georgetown (Dec. 30) and Providence (Jan. 2). CU's first home games in the 2021 calendar year come the following week vs. Seton Hall (Jan. 6) and St. John's (Jan. 9). Creighton takes a week off before a trip to Butler on Jan. 16, then comes back home to take on Providence (Jan. 20) and Connecticut (Jan. 23).
CU ends January and starts February in the middle of a stretch that sees 3-of-4 games on the road. That begins Jan. 27 at Seton Hall before CU visits DePaul (Jan. 30). The Bluejays host Georgetown on Feb. 3 before a Feb. 6 trip to Marquette.
The Bluejays are then scheduled to play just once in the next 18 days, a Feb. 13 showdown with preseason league favorite Villanova that will take place at CHI Health Center Omaha. Following an 11-day break, CU hosts DePaul on Feb. 24. It's Creighton's longest time between games in the same season since a 12-day break in March of 2013
Creighton completes its road schedule with games at Xavier (Feb. 27) and Villanova (March 2) before closing out the regular-season on March 6 with a home game vs. Butler.
Due to expected challenges created by the pandemic, the BIG EAST and its institutions scheduled a concentrated group of 23 conference games from December 11-23 as a plan against possible scheduling challenges later in the season. As a result, the schedule for February is lighter than usual with room for possible re-scheduled games. Tip times and television coverage for the games unveiled today will be announced in the days and weeks to come.
