Georgia native boasts strong FIBA background
OMAHA, Neb. -- Rati Andronikashvili has signed a letter-of-intent with the Creighton University men's basketball program. Andronikashvili is a 6-foot-4 guard from Tbilisi, Georgia and was recently recognized by ESPN's Jonathan Givony as "one of the top European prospects in the 2020 class committing to the college route."
"Rati is a versatile guard that will fit perfectly into our up-tempo, spread offense," said 2020 BIG EAST Coach of the Year Greg McDermott, who recently completed his 10th season at Creighton. "He has the ability to break down the defense and score or make plays for others with the pass. He has a myriad of experience playing with the Georgian national team that will serve him well in his transition to college basketball."

Andronikashvili joins incoming freshmen Ryan Kalkbrenner (St. Louis, Mo.), Modestas Kancleris (Kaunas, Lithuania) and Sami Osmani (Oak Lawn, Ill.), as well as Duke transfer Alex O'Connell (Roswell, Ga.) as newcomers to Creighton's 2020-21 roster.
Creighton finished the 2019-20 season with a 24-7 record, winning a share of its first BIG EAST title. The Bluejays were ranked seventh in the year-end Associated Press poll. Early preseason polls have Creighton as a potential top-10 team for the 2020-21 season.
