Volleyball Rises to 11th RPI Rankings; Stays 24th in AVCA Poll

Jays now a season-best 11th in the RPI
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Volleyball team moved to a season-best 11th in the fifth edition of the official version of the RPI released by the NCAA, and remained 24th in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.
Creighton climbed three spots from 14th in the RPI but didn't move in the AVCA poll following road victories at Marquette (3-1) and DePaul (3-0) last weekend.
The Bluejays are 22-3 overall this year, tied for the national lead in victories with Western Kentucky and Ball State.
The Bluejays, who have been as high as No. 16 this season in the AVCA poll, have now been ranked in each of the last nine weeks and 86 times in program history, a figure that ranks 48th-most in history. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 136-34 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll, including a 61-9 mark in home matches. This is the 10th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record.
Marquette remains just outside the top-25 in the AVCA poll, coming in fourth among those "also receiving votes". The Golden Eagles are 19-4 overall and own an RPI of 14.
Creighton is home this weekend, hosting Xavier on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Butler on Sunday at 1 p.m.
