Rowing Defeats Drake in Fall Finale

Des Moines, Iowa -- The Creighton rowing squad closed out it 2021 fall season with a decisive win over Drake in the annual fall duel on Saturday, November 6.
The Bluejays captured five of seven battles, as the two teams race 750 meters in a best of three format.
Creighton claimed the Varsity 8+, the 2V8, the 3V8, the Varsity 4+ and the Novice 8+ races. Drake posted victories in the Novice 8+ and the 2V8.Â
"it is always nice to end the fall with a victory," said head coach Dan Chipps. "Historically Drake is our biggest competitor, we've been racing against them for close to 30 years. This has been an exciting fall season, we've delivered our best finish against tough competition at the Jayhawk Invite and have the majority of our boats back from last season when we took third in the WCC. If we continue on this trajectory, it could be the best season in program history
The Bluejays will return to the water in early March. kicking off the spring season with a spring break trip to Texas.
