Volleyball Remains 23rd in AVCA Rankings

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Volleyball team remained 23rd in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll after being idle yet again last weekend.

The Bluejays are 4-2 this season and have not played since splitting a pair of matches vs. then-No. 25 Marquette on Feb. 5-6. Originally planned to be non-conference matches, the BIG EAST flipped those contests to conference contests, leaving CU with a 1-1 league mark heading into this weekend's series vs. DePaul (3-3, 3-3 BIG EAST). Start times on those matches were recently adjusted and will now start at 11 a.m. on both days.

This week marks the 61st consecutive week the Bluejays have been ranked when eligible, the nation's ninth-longest active streak. The Bluejays have now been ranked in 75 all-time polls, and every poll since Oct. 31, 2016. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017.

Creighton (4-2) is one of two BIG EAST teams that are ranked this week, as Marquette (8-2, 3-1 BIG EAST) remained 24th after also defeating Saint Louis and Iowa State last weekend.

Creighton is also one of six schools to be ranked in the top-25 in both the Associated Press men's basketball poll and the AVCA women's volleyball poll this week, joining Baylor, Texas, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Purdue.
