Volleyball Earns Season-Best Ranking in RPI; Stays 12th in AVCA Poll
11/24/2025 2:00:00 PM | Volleyball
This is the fifth straight week that Creighton has been No. 12 in the AVCA poll, matching a season-high point. The Jays were also 12th in the preseason AVCA poll. The No. 5 spot in the RPI is a season-best and due in part to Creighton's 13 Top 50 RPI wins, which trails only Nebraska (17) and Arizona State (16) nationally.
The Bluejays have won 20 matches in a row and are 25-5 on the season after sweeping Marquette and Xavier to win last week's BIG EAST Tournament in Milwaukee.
The Bluejays are one of 11 schools (along with Baylor, Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Stanford, Texas and Wisconsin) to have been ranked each of the last 76 polls. The streak began on Sept. 6, 2021 and is a program-record.
Creighton has been ranked in all but six of the past 145 times the AVCA has put out a Top 25 poll and 153 times in program history, which ranks 37th-most all-time. Creighton is 258-53 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll.
Including 2025, Creighton has spent at least one week in the Top 25 each of the last 14 seasons. CU's all-time best AVCA ranking in program history is No. 5, which came four straight weeks last November (Nov. 4, Nov. 11, Nov. 18, Nov. 25, 2024).
Nebraska remained in the top spot after a 28-0 start, just ahead of Kentucky, Texas, Pittsburgh and Stanford.
Up next, Creighton awaits its NCAA Tournament fate. Pairings will be announced next Sunday at 5 p.m. in a nationally-televised selection show on ESPN. The Bluejay team will gather at Old Mattress Factory Bar & Grill in Omaha.
