OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over St. Thomas on Saturday night at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
The Bluejays extended their win streak to three matches and improved to 6-2 overall.
Four different women earned their first victories of the season on Saturday.
During doubles action, Julia King and Laura Higueras combined for a 6-3 win at the No. 3 position for their first win of the season and to clinch the first point of the overall match. Emma Gener and Malvika Shukla did not lose a game at the top position but St. Thomas won at the No. 2 slot before the King and Higueras victory.
Creighton earned straight-sets wins at each singles position.
Julia Aguirre won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 for her first win of the season, while Kristal Kuo claimed a 6-4, 6-3 decision at the No. 6 position for her first win as a Bluejay.
"We were able to play some of our girls that have been working hard but not getting playing time," head coach Tom Lilly said. "They all handled the the situations well and it was nice to sweep the singles and win the doubles point with different doubles teams and some non-starters."
Creighton returns to the courts for a match on March 20 in Des Moines against Drake. First serve between the Bluejays and Bulldogs is scheduled for noon.
