Baseball Hosts Bradley in the Home Opening Series Beginning Friday

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball team officially opens its 2021 home schedule on Friday, March 26 as the Bluejays begin a three-game series with Bradley at 6:30 pm.

Former Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) rivals, Creighton and Bradley have a long history. The Bluejays hold a significant series edge, 72-43, claiming 11 of the last 12 meetings.
Under head coach Ed Servais the Bluejays are 30-7 against Bradley, last facing the Braves in the 2013 season as members of the MVC.
Scouting the Braves (2021: 5-7, 0-0 MVC)
The Braves enter the weekend series with Creighton on a four-game losing streak. Bradley dropped three at Mercer as well as the series finale with Alabama State.
Former Bluejay Elvis Dominguez is in his 13th season at Bradley with a record of 284-305-1.
Bradley enters the series hitting .268 as a team, led by three regulars hitting over .300. Ryan Vogel is the Braves top threat at .396 with 19 hits and nine RBI. One step back is Connor O'Brien,
hitting .365 (19-of-52) and Dan Bolt at .319 (15-of-47).
On the mound the Braves have a team ERA of 5.70. The two named starters are ace Dalton Mall (2.70 ERA, 1-1, 16.2 IP) and Taylor Catton (3.94 ERA, 0-0, 16.0 IP).

Like Bradley, Creighton enters the weekend on a four-game slide, getting swept by Kansas last weekend.
Creighton opened the 2021 campaign by splitting four games in Nashville, then took a three-game series from UNO on March 5-7.
At the plate the Bluejays are hitting .266 as a team, led by three regulars over .295. Leading the way for the regulars are sophomore Andrew Meggs (.357), junior David Webel (.326) and freshman Alan Roden (.385).
On the mound Creighton has a 5.81 ERA. During the Kansas series the team ERA jumped almost two full points.
