Lincoln, Neb. -- Playing in a neutral site match against No. 2 Baylor on Wednesday, January 19, the Creighton men's tennis team fell 7-0 to the Bears.
The loss moved Creighton to 0-2 on the season, while Baylor was competing in its first match of the spring (1-0).
Sophomore Shin Inouye seized upon Baylor's Jacob Brumm in the No. 5 singles match. Inouye claimed the opening set 6-1, before falling in a third set tiebreaker 10-8.
Bluejay senior Stratton Brown also pushed his opposition (Finn Bass), taking the Bear deep into each set before falling 7-5, 6-4.
The four remaining singles matches were straight set victories for Baylor.
"We played a much better match tonight than last week in the same building," said head coach Tom Lilly. "I thought we competed very well against a tough #2 ranked Baylor team and we will need to bring this effort to Colorado this weekend."
The Bluejays return to action on Friday, January 21 at Air Force in a match set to begin at 5:00 pm (CT).
